AUDIENCE FEEDBACK QUESTIONNAIRE ANAYLSIS

Here is an analysis of my questionnaire I produced. This was a questionnaire on my final music magazine. I handed it out to 15 people and they gave me their opinions on what they liked and disliked on my magazine.

1. What one word would you used to describe my magazine when you first viewed it?

The most common answer I got from this question, with 8 out of 15 people answering with this, was unique. 2 people said different and 3 people said interesting. The other 2 people described my magazine as exciting. I think these are really positive answers because they show that people thought my magazine was different which is good because i wanted it to be original to other music magazines.

2. Do you like the main image on my magazine front cover?

100% of people said yes in response to this questions. A few people commented saying that they liked the say Joey Morton was standing in the image. One person commented, 'I think that this image sets the rest of the magazine up really well'. These are really positive comments and made me confident with the choice I made for my magazine.

3. Do you think my front cover has an eye-catching appearance?

I also received 100% yes for this questions. Somebody commented saying 'the artist is good-looking so this is good to attract the female audience'.

4. Do you think the images on my contents page fit well with the rest of the magazine?

This questions had 100% yes response, with positive comments. I received comments on my questionnaire, saying things like 'you can see clearly which images go with which articles', and 'you can see they all fit in with the indie genre.'

5. Do you like the layout of the contents page?

I received yes from everyone who filled in my questionnaire. Someone commented saying 'I can see everything really clearly'. I am happy with this response because the layout of my contents page was something I constantly changed until I was finally happy with it so this has gave my confidence in my decision.

6. Do you think that the images reflect their partnering articles well?

100% Yes response.

7. Do you think that the colour scheme and theme are consistent throughout the magazine?

100% Yes response.

8. Do you think the contents of my double page spread is too much or too less?

75% of people who filled out my questionnaire said that they thought it was just the right amount, someone commented 'because of the pictures it dosent look like too much to read, but there is enough information'. 15% said that there was too little and that they would have liked additional information on them.

9. Does the double page spread article make you want to read more?

100% Yes response.

10. Do you think that deviate competes against current music magazines?

100% Yes response.

11. Would you buy the next issue of this magazine?

95% Yes response      5% said maybe

12. Do you think the price is realistic for the quality of my magazine?

100% Yes response. Somebody commented that 'you pay less for the amount of articles and information in the magazine.'

13. What is your favourite part of the magazine?

I had a really good mixed response to this answer because people liked so many different things. 3 out of 15 said that they liked the colour scheme and the way I 'had experimented with it.' 7 people said they liked the images in my magazine and that 'they really fitted in with the genre'. 4 people said they liked the variety of articles in my magazine and 1 person said what their favourite part of my magazine was, was the layout of my double page spread.

14. What other magazines does it remind you of?

45% NME
10% Mojo
45% Q

I was happy with this response because these are the magazine I based my own magazine on.

Here is a video of somebody answering my questionnaire. This is evidence of somebody commenting on my questionnaire.

DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD PRODUCTION

Here is the production of my double page spread. I produced my double page spread in Quark express like my contents page. I produced this on the same document at my contents page.

Stage 1
I started off with two bank pages which I dragged onto the same document as my contents page. I had to use two pages because it is a double page spread, therefore two pages.

 Stage 2
On my first page I inserted a box for my picture. The original design for my double page spread was to have one full page on the left of a picture of the band. Then the page on the right to be filled with the article itself. Because the article was longer than I expected, it ran over two pages. This just meant that I had to find a solution to filling the third page. When transferring my text onto my double page spread layout, I drew a text box to the size of the right hand page. I then transferred my already edited guardians interview into quark express. In quark express i was able to organise the text into three columns so that it could flow from each column into the next.

Stage 3
Next I added my drop capital and drop quote. My drop capital is the very first letter at the start of my article. I enlarged this letter aside from the rest of my text, i also changed the colour of this letter to maroon to go with the colour scheme I have throughout my magazine. I then added my drop quote. In quark express I was able to create a separate text box which could be placed anywhere between the original text which would move aside for the drop quote. When creating my drop quote, I put certain words in bold and colour, to stand out and grab the attention of the reader. I used a controversial quote to entice the reader to read this article.

Stage 4
The next step was to insert my pictures. I already has a picture box for the first page of my double page spread. I used my main image of the band here. I chose an image which portrays the band and their music well. I also used a second picture to fill in the third page. This picture shows the fun side of the band at band practise, where they are more relaxed and having fun.

Stage 5
This final stage of producing my double page spread was to add a headline, tagline and page numbers. All the text was used over the picture in white so it stood out against the dark picture. I was really happy with my article and pictures which I took. I like the layout of my dps because it really portrays the band and their music well and also portrays a good image for my magazine.
